Where Does The Time Go?

Wow, has it been that many days since I updated? I'd like to say I've been less authorly lately and more concentrated on only the publishing part of my life. But...I can't. I'm insanely trying to fit it all in as well as going on a reading spree. I'm currently working on three different novels...that I'm writing. I know that sounds crazy but there are times when I'm just not in the mood for one so I jump to another. It works out rather well, surprisingly so, considering I'm one of those people that can't read more than one book at a time. I do my writing in my "spare time" and my reading right before bed and my publisher work during the day when I'm not being mom to 4 kids on summer break. School begins again August 11 and we've begun the countdown. Supplies are mostly purchased, my laundry room looks like a department store with all the new clothes, and the new shoes are neatly lined up waiting to be worn on that very special first day...that day when life returns to normal and, hopefully, I will finally get down to the business of finally getting A Marriage of Necessity formatted so that I can share it with the world. Then on to decide which comes next. It's kind of fun having that option. And did I mention I'm anxious to share some of my covers? What? I did?!! Are you sure? Well, just in case you missed it...I'm getting really, really excited to share some of my covers that were created over the summer. Soon...very, very soon....

Celebrate the life of "Deception" on July 15th

My very good friend -- can I say that about someone I have never met in person before? Yes, I believe I can, especially after working with her so closely these last few months. Anyway...my very good friend Jaimey Grant (aka Laura Miller) has a new book that will be released July 15th. That's tomorrow!!! It's a beautiful book inside and out with the most lovely cover and aaaah story...intriguing characters, love, a bit of mystery. It's everything I want in a book and what I strive to write (except the history, of course since I don't really write historical and....you get the picture).

TreasureLine Publishing is hosting a release party for the book and for Jaimey/Laura at TreasureLineBooks.com. There are going to be great prizes including ways to win a free print copy, 7 (yes seven!) eBooks, an absolutely stunning handmade pearl daisy pendant (can I put my name in please?). But mostly it will be a day of celebrating the life of another hold-in-your-hand book by an extremely talented author. Hope you'll join us...

Phantom Authors Unite

At the prompting of Tracy Portis Holmes I just joined Phantom Authors Unite on FaceBook. Tracy found me after TreasureLine Publishing published Sharon E. Cathcart's "In The Eye of The Beholder~A Novel of the Phantom of the Opera" and I have a confession to make....I have my very own Phantom Novel. It's a completed manuscript, although only the first 45 pages or so are actually typed in (Sorry! I'm a pen and paper kind of gal). I will, eventually, have the rest typed up. I rather like it :) It's my take on what happened after Christine left...written in response to the anger I felt when he was left alone. If you want to read the first 30 pages... It's called "A Heart That Sings" and you can find a sample on my author website by clicking the title on the Short Stories and Writings page. If you do read it, please keep in mind that it is completely unedited...typed into the computer by my 15 year old exactly as it appeared on the lined pages of my notebook. There are things that will change, corrections that need to be made. Still, it's a rather lovely little love story!

My "normal" writing style produces much more modern romance. I have upcoming titles such as "A Marriage of Necessity", "The Selling of Ellie Carr", "The Escort", "Protect My Heart", "When Love Whispers", "Love With A Twist Of Lime"... I am a definite happy ever after person. This book will be no different as they experience many ups and downs...just like real life. I don't try to profess a knowledge of things I know nothing about. I simply write from my heart and hope that you will enjoy it as much as I do.
